Enhanced Decision-Making in Engineering (EDM-E) Training Programme

EDM-E is a collaborative training programme designed to strengthen frontline decision-making under pressure and support engineers with handling challenging maintenance situations safely and with confidence.

HeliOffshore has designed five detailed training scenarios based on challenging maintenance tasks and situations your frontline teams could come across in their day-to-day work. The programme presents decision points for each scenario at key junctures, requiring participants to imagine what they would do in the same situation.

When considering these juncture points, participants are asked to commit to a response, rank alternative options, and share decision rationale. Responses are intended to encourage deeper discussions about how and why participants and experts choose certain strategies or courses of action over others – rather than determining right or wrong answers.

Training resources – including video materials, detailed scenarios, and guidelines for facilitating sessions – have been made available to HeliOffshore members via SPACE.
