HeliOffshore Launches Three Recommended Practices
Today (2nd October 2020), HeliOffshore published three Recommended Practices to address operations in Flightpath Management (FPM), Helicopter Flight Data Monitoring (HFDM) and Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS).
Tim Rolfe, HeliOffshore CEO, thanked members: “All three Recommended Practices are great examples of how our industry – from designers and maintainers, to pilots and passengers – works together and learns from each other to ensure no lives are lost in offshore aviation.
“My heartfelt thanks particularly goes to those who contributed through HeliOffshore’s Working Groups and volunteered their time and expertise to complete this body of work. We hugely appreciate your contribution to safety.
“It is no coincidence that our colleagues at IOGP also published IOGP 690 today. This document is designed to recognise best practice and hardwire it into industry contracting standards. It sparks a vital safety conversation.
“It’s important to remember that publication of any document – whether IOGP 690 or any other Recommended Practice – is just the first step toward ensuring those we are responsible for travel home safely every day. The shared hard work of implementing best practice has just begun.
“As ever, thank you for your continued support.”
