As we collaborate to drive offshore helicopter safety to ever-higher levels, globally, we are attracting industry-leading expertise to the working groups delivering on HeliOffshore’s six priorities.

We have a significant set of safety activity underway including:

  • Helicopter Terrain Avoidance Warning System research and testing
  • the imminent publication of our Health and Usage Monitoring System Best Practice Guidance
  • reviewing the oil and gas industry’s aviation guidelines
  • increased sharing of safety information across the industry

To truly maximise the impact of safety efforts, you need dedicated resource. I’m pleased to announce that we are augmenting our team with a highly experienced and committed aviation safety expert. This month, Francois Lassale takes on the role of operations director at HeliOffshore.

His immediate focus is to support our members to fully implement the association’s Health and Usage Monitoring System best practice guidance, which will be issued shortly, while continuing to drive the work of all six safety priorities identified by HeliOffshore.

Please join me in welcoming Francois to HeliOffshore. With his expertise and drive, I am certain that our ongoing collaboration will deliver significant safety advancements, to the benefit of the maintainers, crew and passengers of the rotary-wing industry operating offshore.

Francois was selected from a highly experienced pool of candidates for the role, candidates identified thanks to the pro bono support of Carl Friessner-Day, from executive search firm BrethertonDay Limited. Carl provided outstanding service to our association and the HeliOffshore Board has written to him expressing our gratitude.
