News: HeliOffshore Appoints New Membership Manager
HeliOffshore, the offshore helicopter industry’s global safety association, today announced the appointment of Gillian (Gill) Furlong as membership manager. From 5th March, Gill will engage with and support our 100+ members to ensure that HeliOffshore maximises the highly collaborative relationship it has with these key stakeholders. She will also handle many aspects of the administrative work involved in the effective running of the association.
Gill has held several senior roles in information technology and governance with Essex County Council. She has extensive experience of complex collaborative projects that involved encouraging and enabling multiple stakeholder groups, including various organisations within the National Health Service, to work together in partnership with local government. Previously, Gill was engaged in human factors work at the GEC Marconi Research Centre, where she contributed to human factors work in support of several important Ministry of Defence programmes. She holds an MSc degree in Work Design and Ergonomics.
HeliOffshore was formed in 2014 with a mission to enhance safety in the offshore transport industry that carries several hundred thousand people to and from work in the oil and gas sector. Our membership includes aircraft operators, manufacturers, oil and gas companies, training providers and safety management experts. We work closely with stakeholders across the industry to develop and implement significant safety enhancements that have the greatest potential to save lives.
