News: Bruno Even Appointed New CEO of Airbus Helicopters

Airbus group this week named Bruno Even as the new CEO of Airbus Helicopters. Mr Even, 49, will begin his role on 1st April, having served as CEO of Safran Helicopter Engines since 2015. He is succeeding Guillaume Faury who next week will assume the position of President of Airbus Commercial Aircraft.

Mr Even will report directly to Airbus group CEO Tom Enders, and will join the group’s Executive Committee. “I am very pleased we could attract an experienced executive with Bruno Even to join Airbus,” commented Tom Enders in an Airbus press release. “Bruno has climbed the management ranks at Safran at a very young age. His broad background of the helicopter business and his strong customer focus, combined with programme and engineering expertise, make Bruno the ideal candidate to succeed Guillaume Faury and to continue our successful improvement journey in a very demanding business environment.”

A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique, Mr Even joined the French Ministry of Defence in 1992 and was in charge of developing space components for the Helios II satellite. In 1997, he moved to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as technical advisor for the Director of Strategic Affairs, Security and Disarmament. He joined Safran Helicopter Engines in 1999, rising to the position of Executive Vice President Support and Services, before serving as CEO of Safran Electronics & Defense from 2013 to 2015.

Safran Helicopter Engines has yet to name Mr Even’s successor as CEO.
